Research

CNT researchers focus on engineering devices that can help us better understand what happens within the brain’s communication networks when there is a misfiring, as in cases of epilepsy, or a lost connection, as with paralysis. They use this knowledge to help improve medical management as well as to develop brain-computer interfaces and other technological tools that can restore neural networks and improve function.

Research in the CNT is divided into four major areas: Devices, Analytics, Imaging and Neuroprosthetics. We translate new technologies from the laboratory to humans.
